RENTAS

Real-time Electronic Transfer of Funds and Securities System (RENTAS) provides real-time gross settlement of interbank fund transfers for high-value payments, scripless securities trading transactions and MYR/USD Payment versus Payment (PvP) settlement via USD CHATS (Clearing Housed Automated Transfer System) for its members.

RENTAS enables payment instructions between the participants of the system to be processed and settled individually and continuously throughout the working day. 

RENTAS mitigates settlement risk in the settlement process as it facilitates payments between participants on a real-time basis with finality. In 2010, the RENTAS system settled 3.2 million transactions amounting to RM39.4 trillion.

By 2012, RENTAS is scheduled to expand its service by offering foreign currency custodian services and securities settlements via Euroclear link. This is in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s (Central Bank of Malaysia) efforts in promoting efficient and cost-effective post-trade settlement and processes for the Asian capital market. MyClear is the first and only depository where Euroclear has a direct membership.
